Earthquake in Japan – Christian Aid

Posted: March 18, 2011 in Aid, Ethics, Social Justice

By donating to Christian Aid, you can help communities in countries like the Philippines establish practices that will prevent events such as earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions and typhoons from becoming disasters.

Christian Aid will direct any donations for the people affected by the disaster in Japan to our sister agency the Church World Service that is working with Japanese non-governmental organisations to provide support there on the ground.

However, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office told the Disaster and Emergencies Committee that the Japanese Foreign Ministry had informed them that it is not seeking international humanitarian assistance.
