The Importance of Emotional Intelligence

In this fascinating interview, psychologist Daniel Goleman, the author of ‘Working With Emotional Intelligence‘, explains what emotional intelligence is all about – self-awareness, managing emotions, motivation, empathy and social skills. Goleman believes that I.Q. cannot be the sole yardstick of ‘success’ and that E.I. is equally, or perhaps even more, important. Moreover, E.I. is not a ‘fixed value’ and can change over a lifetime.  So, what it means to be smart isn’t quite as simple as we may have thought!
